| Have tried a couple of times to visit this pub but the car park was always
full !! We finally ate there this week and it was worth the perseverance.
Very nice dining area - quite smart - the waitress was quite chatty and
seems to have tried most of the dishes herself! Mixed grill - superb....scampi
and chips - beautiful ... and S + K pudding which our friend said was just
like his mum used to make - hes 82 years young. For a first visit we were
very taken with the pub and will certainly be going back for more.......oh
yes - the loos above average!! |

It always has a great atmosphere, and the Friday night bands add to the
buzz without taking over completely. You can still find a corner to talk
in.
Food is excellent. Atmosphere is great. We even had Xmas dinner there this
year, and it was perfect !

Another visit to the Amberwood for a meal with friends and it didn't disappoint!
I would recommend this one to anyone! |

The kind of added service that can really make it a winning evening! We all enjoyed the food here and stayed for a long time afterwards.

| An example of the ideal pub, good beer, friendly staff, good varied menu.
A lively place on Friday music nights and Monday quiz. |

The food has always been excellent, and the selection and menus are a cut
above the usual pub "fayre". This often means that you need
to book a table, especially weekends. Worth the effort though. The staff
are friendly enough and the beers are well kept with some good real ales.

I was much impressed by the quality of the meals, the welcome of the staff,
and the real ale from Hall & Woodhouse. Will definitely go there again. |

I went there with my wife and two friends and found the food to be excellent
with good portions. Plenty of variety on the menu with many 'specials'
listed on the board.
